See Battleborn at the PC Gamer Weekender

2K Battleborn Paradise Meltdown MontanaCharge

Gearbox will bring their shiny, colourful new arena shooter Battleborn to the PC Gamer Weekender. On 5/6 of March you can get an early look at the game with creative director Randy Varnell. Randy worked as a design producer on Borderlands 2, and knows a thing or two about crafting exuberant shooters.

Battleborn is a little different from Borderlands’ loot-driven co-operative shooting, however. There is a story mode, which you can play with a friend, but there are many more competitive options, including capture point modes and a scenario where heroes guide their minions to a huge fight in the middle of the map.

Variety is supplied by Battleborn’s numerous, varied heroes, each stranger than the last. Indeed, Gearbox promises a hero for “every kind of badass”. Options include a clockwork gentlebot in a bowler hat who vanquishes enemies with an engraved golden gun. Perhaps you’d prefer the four-armed witch, Orendi, or the mushroom man, Miko, who can throw daggers at an alarming rate.

Learn more about Battleborn’s uncanny cast in the Battleborn session on the PC Gamer Weekender developer stages. Sessions packed full of exclusive details and sneak peaks will run throughout the day, giving you insight into upcoming games like Stellaris, Star Citizen, Divinity: Original Sin 2, Frozen Synapse 2 and much more. Our huge game zone will get you hands-on with hot unreleased games like Dark Souls 3 and Total War: Warhammer, and we’ll be running tournaments throughout the day and showing off the latest in PC gaming technology in the hardware zone. There’s even a boardgame basement if you want to relax between sessions.
