Last March, Capcom has announced that the remakes of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3, as well as Resident Evil 7 will be released on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PS5, with of course the firm intention of exploiting the capacities of the new consoles of Microsoft and Sony Interactive Entertainment (ray-racing, improved visual rendering, compatibility with DualSense features, 3D audio among others). Since then, the Japanese publisher has not communicated on the subject, which does not mean that it has remained idly by.
Link not working yet but looks like Remake 3 PS5 upgrade is imminent. Nothing for 7 or 2 yet. pic.twitter.com/tqNMALIRS4

Incidentally, some users – including tweetos TheBatMan – recently noticed on the PlayStation Store the appearance of a link supposed to refer to the PS5 version of Resident Evil 3. Of course, nothing has been activated by Capcom yet, but this tends to show that the “next-gen” version of the title is about to be launched. If we add to this the fact that Resident Evil 3 was classified last month by the PEGI on the three machines, there is a good chance that Resident Evil 3 opens the ball before – surely – being imitated by Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 7.
Anyway, we remind you that those who already have the original version of one of these games will benefit from the corresponding update for free, knowing that Capcom has indicated that a physical version on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PS5 were not on the agenda at the moment. On the other hand, the backups can indeed be kept.
