Euro Truck Simulator 2: Switzerland’s A9 Rework in Update 1.50

On January 11, 2024, SCS Software detailed the rebuilt A9 corridor for the Switzerland map in Euro Truck Simulator 2. The post described work in progress at the time. The completed Switzerland rework arrived on May 14, 2024, as part of the free 1.50 update for every owner of the base game.

SCS rebuilt the in-game A9 from the Bern direction and extended the route through the Rhône valley in the canton of Valais. The road passes vineyards and Alpine terrain, giving the western part of the Swiss map a longer and more detailed connection than the old version.

Furka Pass joins the rebuilt road network

The January preview also confirmed Furka Pass on Route 19, identified as the N19 in the final 1.50 release notes. Tight bends and steep grades make the pass unusual for a heavy-truck route. SCS included it as a driveable Alpine road alongside the motorway.

Settlements and industries along the route

The route update covers Susten, Obergoms and Realp. Some settlements were rebuilt while others were added to the map. New delivery points include a farm and a sawmill, so the corridor adds jobs as well as scenery.

Update 1.50 later confirmed the wider scope of the finished project, including redesigned versions of Geneva, Bern and Zurich, revised regional economy, new A9 and N19 sections, and the A40/E25 connection from Geneva toward Aosta through the Mont Blanc route.
