Remedy Reiterates Last Year’s Information Regarding Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake

Following the departure of their long-standing CEO, Remedy Entertainment has entered a transitional period that has sparked a wave of cautious speculation. Stepping into the leadership role is Jean-Charles Gaudechon, a former Electronic Arts executive with a background heavily rooted in mobile gaming monetization and microtransactions. This shift in management has left some fans apprehensive, fearing that the studio’s traditionally narrative-driven approach might be influenced by more aggressive commercial strategies.

In more immediate news, the recent PlayStation State of Play delivered the first gameplay reveal for the studio’s next highly anticipated project: Control Resonant, the sequel to the critically acclaimed 2019 supernatural thriller.

As for the highly anticipated Max Payne 1&2 remake, the project surfaced once again in Remedy’s latest financial report. While no groundbreaking details were shared, the studio reiterated that active development is ongoing. It was also clarified that all official communication regarding the remake remains at the sole discretion of Rockstar Games. The publisher appears to be positioning the title for a release window in 2026 or later, ensuring it arrives well after the massive launch of GTA 6.
