Petition: Add Ukrainian Language to Mafia: The Old Country
Right after the announcement of Mafia: The Old Country, the public raised a question: how can a game about the mafia not have Italian voice-over? However, the creators quickly responded and reassured fans — the characters will speak in Sicilian, which fits better with the concept since the events take place in 1900s Sicily. Long live authenticity!
At the same time, Ukrainian gamers have called for the addition of the Ukrainian language in the new Mafia. This initiative can be supported on the social network X (formerly Twitter) by liking and reposting the tweet from PlayUA, our request to the developers, as well as joining the corresponding discussion thread on Steam. But we have prepared another option — signing the petition on change.org.
We, fans of Mafia from Ukraine and around the world, ask 2K Games and Hangar 13 to add Ukrainian as one of the supported languages. We firmly believe that this will increase interest in the upcoming Mafia: The Old Country. We hope to enjoy one of the most anticipated games of 2025 in our native language.
We promise to uphold omertà in Ukrainian.
