Olivia Rodrigo’s “Good 4 U” blasts in at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 chart, marking her second leader on the list, after “Drivers License” reigned for eight weeks beginning in January.
Meanwhile, Lil Nas X‘s “Montero (Call Me by Your Name)” notches its sixth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. survey.
Plus, J. Cole debuts three songs in the Global 200’s top 10, led by “my.life,” with 21 Savage and Morray, at No. 4.
Billboard‘s two global charts (the latest of which are dated May 29) began last September and rank songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by MRC Data. The Billboard Global 200 is inclusive of worldwide data and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart comprises data from territories excluding the U.S.
Chart rankings are based on a weighted formula incorporating official-only streams on both subscription and ad-supported tiers of audio and video music services, as well as download sales, the latter of which reflect purchases from full-service digital music retailers from around the world, with sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites excluded from the charts’ calculations.
‘Good 4’ Her: Rodrigo Launches Atop Global 200
Olivia Rodrigo’s “Good 4 U” soars in atop the Billboard Global 200 with 88.5 million streams, the week’s top total, and 16,000 sold worldwide in the May 14-20 tracking week, following its May 14 release.
Rodrigo achieves her second Global 200 No. 1, after “Drivers License” dominated for eight weeks beginning in January. She has also hit the top 10 with “Deja Vu” (No. 8 debut and peak in April), with all three songs from her debut album Sour, released Friday (May 21).
Rodrigo is the first woman with two Global 200 No. 1s over the chart’s first eight months, and joins BTS, with three, as the only acts overall with multiple leaders.
Dua Lipa’s “Levitating,” featuring DaBaby, hits a new No. 2 Global 200 high, up from No. 3, and Doja Cat’s “Kiss Me More,” featuring SZA, likewise lifts to a new best rank (5-3).
J. Cole debuts three songs in the Global 200’s top 10: “my.life,” with 21 Savage and Morray, at No. 4 (56.1 million streams, 3,500 sold worldwide); “amari” at No. 8 (53.2 million streams, 1,400 sold); and “pride.is.the.devil,” with Lil Baby, at No. 9 (48.2 million streams, 2,800 sold). The songs follow J. Cole’s “Interlude,” which opened at No. 8 on the Global 200 a week earlier, with all four tracks from his new Billboard 200 No. 1 album The Off-Season; they also mark his first four Global 200 top 10s.
Rounding out the Global 200’s top five, Lil Nas X’s “Montero (Call Me by Your Name)” falls to No. 5, after five weeks at No. 1.
‘Montero’ Logs Fourth Week at No. 1 Outside U.S.
Lil Nas X’s “Montero (Call Me by Your Name)” adds its fourth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, with 54.5 million streams (down 6%) and 2,400 sold (down 4%) in territories outside the U.S. in the May 14-20 tracking week.
Justin Bieber’s “Peaches,” featuring Daniel Caesar and Giveon, holds at No. 2 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart, after five weeks at No. 1; Dua Lipa’s “Levitating,” featuring DaBaby, rebounds to its No. 3 high from No. 4; and The Weeknd and Ariana Grande’s “Save Your Tears” retreats 3-4, after reaching No. 2.
Closing out the Global Excl. U.S. top five, Olivia Rodrigo’s “Good 4 U” starts at No. 5 with 46.1 million streams and 4,000 sold outside the U.S. She earns her second top 10 on the tally, after “Drivers License” led for nine weeks.
