The Witcher 3 Modder Restores Cut Scene with Lambert

A significant portion of the developers’ original vision never reached the final retail version of the game.

The dedicated modding community remains committed to painstakingly reclaiming lost features and assets from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Following a major update to the “Brothers In Arms – Ultimate Edition” mod earlier this year, prominent creator xLetalis showcased a newly unearthed interaction between Geralt and Lambert that was previously scrubbed from the game.

While the retail version of The Witcher 3 portrays the two witchers crossing paths mid-combat, CD Projekt RED originally conceptualized a starkly different introduction for Lambert.

The discarded script featured Lambert in a state of meditation; upon being approached by Geralt, he would have urged the White Wolf to remain hidden and maintain silence.

Interestingly, this iteration of the quest was designed to be accessible even after the climactic Battle of Kaer Morhen. Furthermore, certain dialogue fragments suggest that during this phase of development, the writers had yet to finalize the ultimate fate of a key character.
