NieR Automata: the ultimate secret discovered almost 4 years after the game's release

Released in March 2017 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, NieR Automata had not yet revealed all of its secrets. Yoko Taro, its creator, had let it know in 2018 in the pages of Famitsu magazine that everything had not yet been discovered. It was without counting on the perseverance of Lance McDonald, a specialist in the genre and dataminer in his spare time, who finally found el famoso “final secret”. It is neither more nor less than a cheat code that he can activate after having beaten the first boss and which allows him to directly access the end of the game, the real one, without having to go through the countless phases in shoot where you have to shoot the end credits. In addition, it was mandatory to sacrifice your save to help another player pass this phase, a save that was also lost forever. Lance McDonald specifies that it is not in any way a bug or a glitch, but indeed a real code which was thought by the authors of the game. It is not besides for nothing if the discovery of McDonald’s was retweeted by Yoko Taro himself, who specifies that it will have taken 3 years and 10 months for someone to find him. Our dataminer says this discovery took him hundreds of hours of reverse engineering to figure it out. A video of the complete cheat code manipulation should arrive in the next few days, which will allow the speedrunners to break their lap times.
