Move It, Bucko! Cardi B Records Hilarious Train Etiquette PSAs to Air in NYC Subway Stations

Cardi B Records Playful Safety PSAs for New York City Subway Riders

Published Sep 23, 2025

Spotted on subway platforms citywide, Cardi B is asking New Yorkers a simple question: “Am I the drama?” If the answer is yes, her new public-service spots suggest rethinking your behavior on transit.

In a collaboration announced by the MTA on Tuesday, Sept. 23, the rapper recorded a series of short, spirited announcements about subway safety and etiquette. The messages will be broadcast in numerous stations across the system.

An Instagram clip shared by the MTA shows Cardi visiting the agency’s offices to record the spots. She delivers the lines with her characteristic wit — at one point saying, “We’re walking here!” and joking, “Steps are for stepping, not sitting. Move it, Bucko!”

In another spot she cautions riders to stop “subway surfing,” urging, “Ride safe, keep it cute, and keep it moving.”

Cardi also reminds commuters that the system depends on riders: “These trains don’t move without you,” she says, encouraging everyone to pay fares and act responsibly.

This campaign follows a recent publicity stunt in which Cardi walked through subway cars selling copies of her new album, Am I the Drama?, which was released on Sept. 19, 2025. She even sold albums vendor-style on the street, noting on Instagram that her label wanted her out in the neighborhoods selling the record herself.

She’s not the first artist to team up with the MTA: last October, Billie Eilish recorded messages asking fans to choose public transit when heading to her New York show to reduce car trips and help the planet.
