The latest update paves the way for next year’s release.
The team behind the automation simulator Modulus has issued a substantial update to the demo and released a new trailer that illustrates how the project has progressed since spring. The game is now considerably nearer to its final form, and the refreshed demo highlights the development made over recent months.
The developers have completely reworked the early gameplay: a new tutorial system has been added, island layouts have been redesigned, and the technology tree has been overhauled to better govern progression and unlock key components. The update also introduces new buildings, visual polish, and a long-requested dark mode.
In addition, Modulus now supports pausing production and construction, and introduces delivery missions. An experience and ranking system has been implemented, the interface has been modernized, camera sensitivity can be adjusted, and new audio elements have been added.
Previous save files from the old demo are not supported, but the team insists the fresh start is worth it: saves created in the updated demo will be compatible with the full game, which is scheduled for release in 2026.
