Main game announcements from the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct presentation:
• Nintendo Switch 2 will be available for purchase on June 5th;
• Switch 2 will feature a 7.9″ LCD screen with a resolution of 1920×1080, supporting 120 Hz and HDR. In docked mode, the console outputs up to 4K resolution and experiences a performance boost. Much attention is given to the new spatial audio technology and joy-cons that can function as a mouse;
• DuskBloods from FromSoftware has been announced. The game will be released in 2026 exclusively for Switch 2. All details will be revealed on April 4th;
• 3D platformer Donkey Kong Bananza will be released on July 17th exclusively for Switch 2;
• a teaser for the racing arcade game Kirby Air Riders was shown. It will be released this year;
• the official announcement for Mario Kart World took place. The game promises dynamic weather changes and the ability to explore locations freely with friends. It will be exclusive to Switch 2 and release simultaneously with the console;
• the GameChat proprietary chat has been introduced. A new button has even been dedicated to it on the right joy-con. Screen sharing is supported, but a special webcam is required for video calls;
• Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild and Tears of The Kingdom, along with several other games, will receive updated versions with improved resolution and increased frame rates. Importantly, all upgrades will be paid;
• ports of Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring, Split Fiction, Hades 2, Hogwarts Legacy, Yakuza 0, and Borderlands 4 have been announced;
• the updated Pro Controller now features additional paddle buttons and a 3.5 mm jack;
• Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment has been announced, releasing this winter;
• Hollow Knight: Silksong will also appear on Switch 2 this year;
• Nintendo Online subscription will start featuring GameCube games.
