Lumines Arise Readies Unique Missions and Modes for PS5, PC and VR — Launching in November
The puzzle series Lumines returns thanks to Enhance and Monstars with Lumines Arise. The title merges the classic falling-block gameplay with vivid, psychedelic visuals — but there’s more to discover beyond the aesthetics.
In a recent video, the developers showcased the new “Burst” mechanic — it temporarily freezes cleared areas to let you rack up as many points as possible. Unlike the Zone in Tetris Effect, Burst also lifts adjacent blocks of different patterns into the air before they fall again. It’s a risky tactic, but when executed with the right strategy it enables larger combo chains.
In addition to a wordless, story-driven Journey Mode, the game features a nonstop Survival Mode with leaderboards, training missions, Challenges, and the option to build your own level playlist.
There are Burst Battles against AI or other players, plus a new Dig Down mode where you clear blocks to dig deeper.
Lumines Arise is scheduled for release on November 11, 2025 for PS5 and PC with VR support. A free demo is available on PC as part of Steam Next Fest.
