
The desk motif extends to other interface elements — the info screen appears projected onto an acrylic board, and small props populate the workspace. A nice touch is that Online modes are represented by a smartphone resting on the desk. Sakurai didn’t explicitly confirm whether Michiko Sakurai led UI on this project, but the style fits closely with her previous work.
The menu includes Amiibo integration: scanning a Kirby Amiibo changes the little Kirby toy cursor’s pose, while other Amiibo swap out the desktop figure — Bandana Waddle Dee was showcased as an example.
Two Kirby Air Riders beta weekends will let players try three tracks and three modes — including City Trial — on Switch 2 in November.
