Jagged Alliance: Rage – a contemporary sequel to a turn-based techniques traditional – will launch on September 27th in line with writer THQ Nordic. This comes as some shock, because it feels prefer it was only a couple weeks in the past that the game was introduced in any respect. Because it was.
While I do have my reservations (I’m an enormous fan of Jagged Alliance 2 and its still-active mod scene), Alec’s reassurances that the new one doesn’t seem too bad have helped. Fingers crossed for this one, as I don’t suppose my poor, battered coronary heart may take one other unhealthy Jagged Alliance. Below, a brand new trailer that includes a few of our previous favorite mercs from JA2.
It’s good to see Ivan Dolvich again and nonetheless doing a large number of murders, though I’m nonetheless hoping we’ll see the return of Bobby “Steroid” Gontarski, everybody’s favorite budget-priced powerhouse. Much like Jagged Alliance 2, gamers lead a squad of mercenaries on a seemingly suicidal mission throughout a small, jungle island. While to newcomers it’d seem that Rage is borrowing from the interpersonal relationships that made XCOM 2’s growth so attention-grabbing, it’s simply constructing on the bickering, argumentative character dynamics of its 1999 predecessor.
My foremost fear about this explicit iteration on the sequence is its developer. Cliffhanger Productions could also be solely targeted on turn-based techniques games, however they’re most identified for Jagged Alliance Online and Shadowrun Chronicles, neither of which have been a lot good. While the latter noticed some enhancements by way of patches and DLC, I’m nervous that they don’t have what it takes to do Jagged Alliance justice. I hope I’m mistaken, but when nothing else, we’ve nonetheless obtained Jagged Alliance 2 and its ever-expanding collection of mods.
Jagged Alliance: Rage can be launching on September 27th, and can value $20/€20. You can discover the game on Steam here, and take a look at its official page here.
