iPad mini 7th Generation Rated 3/10 for Repairability
The iPad mini 6th generation received the same rating. After disassembling the new tablet, iFixit experts found that its internal structure has hardly changed: the arrangement of internal components and battery size remain the same. Also unchanged is the adhesive securing the battery — it differs from that of the iPhone 16, meaning it does not weaken under the influence of electrical current.
The display structure hasn’t changed either, so the “jelly” effect persists, though reviewers note it is less pronounced.
Changes inside include new magnets for the Apple Pencil, a new processor, and the absence of a SIM tray in the Cellular version (now only eSIM).
During disassembly, the display can still be easily damaged, hence the repairability rating remains low — 3 out of 10.
