Idris Elba, the acclaimed star of Luther and The Wire, has been officially knighted by King Charles III, according to media reports.
The honor was bestowed upon Elba in recognition of his extensive philanthropic work, particularly his advocacy for youth empowerment and his efforts to combat crime. The actor drives these social initiatives through the Elba Hope Foundation, which he established alongside his wife, Sabrina.
On the professional front, fans can expect Elba to return to Apple TV+ this January for the second season of the high-stakes thriller Hijack.
