Technically, the noise generated by suppressed weapons has been halved, effectively reducing the detection radius by 50%. Enemy responsiveness has also been tweaked; specifically, the sensitivity of units like Chargers, Impalers, Devastators, and Berserkers has been lowered when they aren’t directly hit. On the accessibility front, the M-1000 Maxigun’s muzzle flash has been adjusted to alleviate photosensitivity concerns.
🛠 Tactical Support Incoming! ⚙️ A new patch is out now featuring suppressed weapon overhauls, photosensitivity fixes, and fresh mission types. *Details here: https://t.co/M7XiFBKsJk *Note: Commando missions go live later today with the Redacted Regiment… pic.twitter.com/BfaEaTc6hmJanuary 22, 2026
These stealth-focused missions are scheduled to go live in tandem with the Redacted Regiment Warbond, approximately two hours from the time of this update (1pm GMT / 8am EST / 5am PST).
While the gameplay tweaks are exciting, the storage optimization is a massive technical milestone. After extensive beta testing, Arrowhead is finally making the “slim” PC build the standard for all users. This optimized client, which first appeared in public testing last month, can save players up to 131GB of precious drive space.
The developers will maintain the legacy “large” build for a brief transition period, allowing users to switch back if they encounter any issues. However, Arrowhead has confirmed they intend to permanently retire the unoptimized build once they are satisfied with the stability of the transition.
Looking forward, Arrowhead has hinted at a wealth of content planned for February and beyond. It seems the war for Galactic Liberty is only just heating up.
