Christina Hodson, the creative mind behind Birds of Prey and The Flash, has been tapped to write the screenplay for DC’s upcoming feature, Batman: The Brave and the Bold. This project is set to be a cornerstone of James Gunn’s “Gods and Monsters” chapter and will exist independently from Matt Reeves’ The Batman franchise.
Hodson has reportedly been developing the script since last autumn. DC leadership is granting her significant creative leeway, avoiding any rush to ensure the narrative meets their vision. James Gunn and Peter Safran are aiming for a portrayal of the Dark Knight that stands in sharp contrast to the tone established in Reeves’ films.
Andy Muschietti, the director behind the It duology, is slated to helm the project. The plot is expected to dive into the iconic partnership and adventures of Batman and Robin.
