GTA Online Crossplay Available
The creators of the Los Santos Online project have demonstrated that players using different platforms can play together in GTA Online. By utilizing their own servers on a modded PS4 and a developer copy of GTA 5, they managed to join a session with a player on PC.
This shows that developers could add such a feature, but they choose not to.
