Numerous changes over the past two weeks regarding
GTA Online have also affected creators and sellers of cheat menus. Recently, they received letters from Take-Two representatives demanding they stop supporting and distributing their programs, otherwise, legal actions would be taken.
Those behind the cheat menu named 2Take1 decided not to tempt fate and simply announced that they are done—no more updates will be made.
Meanwhile, the creators of Stand, which
previously caused a lot of trouble for players, are confident that they won’t face legal proceedings as they claim they cannot be identified. Regardless, the source code for this program was
released publicly last fall.
Additionally, T2 has filed a lawsuit against Chinese Paiao Network Technology, owners of PlayerAuctions.com. This is a platform for the sale of boosted accounts and virtual currency in the most popular multiplayer video games of today. The rights holders of Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption are not the first to be displeased by manipulations with their projects and the damage caused. Previously, Roblox developers also turned to the court. The first hearing of that case is scheduled for tomorrow, March 20th. It is likely that both companies will succeed in halting the sales of goods and services related to their trademarks on the platform.
