GTA 5 “Agent Trevor”: Personal Transportation, Casino Dancing, and More (Yesterday at 23:11 OPla G640)

In a recent interview on the Brazilian channel SanInPlay, Joe Rubino (Joe Rubino), one of the primary operators responsible for motion capture at Rockstar Games during the development of Max Payne 3, GTA 5, and Red Dead Redemption 2, spoke about “Agent Trevor,” a storyline expansion for GTA 5. Notably, Rubino is behind the infamous hoax with Bryan Zampella.

After working on GTA 5, we split into two teams: I stayed with the one working on ‘Online,’ while the other focused on the Trevor DLC, but they were soon moved to RDR 2. GTA Online became so financially successful that creating story expansions became unprofitable… Many assets from that project were still used in multiplayer, so I don’t think it was all for nothing.

These words quickly spread across gaming and other media outlets. However, there’s nothing new in this information. We have long known that story expansions were shelved in favor of GTA Online. And the fact that Agent Trevor was the first in this line-up was also predictable: Steven Ogg had mentioned that he had filmed for a continuation; last month, a soundtrack was discovered that could have been the main musical theme of that DLC

So let’s discuss something genuinely new, revealed by data miner HeySlickThatsMe, besides the previously known information.

  • The FIB agent appears in Trevor’s trailer to convince him to work for the agency.
  • Developers “tailored” a special suit for Mr. Phillips suitable for the occasion (possibly as seen in the screenshot?), and the amphibious car Ocelot Stromberg became the rookie spy’s personal vehicle.
  • The Cargobob helicopter with a magnet was initially made for this DLC.
  • One drone model was equipped with a machine gun, and the other with a laser.
  • There was a functional dance mini-game in the casino.

Interestingly, it was also planned to sell military uniform for Trevor, a clown outfit for Michael, content from the collector’s edition, and cut weapons separately. A typical monetization model for PS3 and Xbox 360 generation video games.
