God of War Trilogy Remake – Announcement Teaser | PS5 Games
It remains to be seen how extensive this reimagining will be. While some recent remakes have focused on visual polish, the original God of War titles are aging relics of a different era; a ground-up reconstruction would be a massive undertaking. Whether Sony plans a straightforward graphical update or a complete mechanical overhaul similar to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the question on every fan’s mind.
In a surprising twist, Sony also shadow-dropped God of War: Sons of Sparta today. This project, which had also been the subject of rumors, is a 2D action-platformer that explores Kratos’ early life and challenges.
“As we chart our path forward, we remain dedicated to honoring the legacy and roots of the franchise,” the development team noted. “The overwhelming desire from the community to see the Greek saga return has not gone unnoticed. We are grateful for your passion and look forward to revealing more when the time is right.”
