Hot on the heels of its striking debut during last month’s Xbox Developer Direct, Game Freak has officially confirmed the launch window for Beast of Reincarnation. This highly anticipated action RPG is scheduled to arrive on August 4 for PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X.
Beast of Reincarnation represents Game Freak’s most ambitious venture into the AAA space outside of the Pokémon franchise. Billed as a “one-person, one-dog” adventure, the game transports players to a derelict version of Japan overrun by colossal monstrosities. While fans received an in-depth look at the mechanics earlier this year, a new release date trailer premiered during the recent PlayStation State of Play to solidify the timeline.
The latest footage offers a melancholic glimpse into the journey of the protagonist, Emma, and her canine ally as they navigate a landscape defined by industrial rot and architectural ruins. Between sightings of towering beasts and a haunting soundtrack reminiscent of the Nier series, the trailer cements the game’s somber yet captivating atmosphere.
As it stands, Beast of Reincarnation is the first major tentpole title to lock in a mid-summer release date. It currently leads a pack of upcoming blockbusters showcased during the State of Play, many of which—including Control Resonant—are still awaiting firm arrival windows.
Beast of Reincarnation is set to hit shelves on August 4 across PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X.
