Epic Games has unveiled the Patch Notes for Fortnite Battle Royale’s v35.00 update ahead of time. Scheduled for release on May 2, this update kicks off Season 3: ‘Galactic Battle’.
Imperial Star Destroyers emerge from hyperspace, assembling around the Death Star with its ominous superlaser aimed at the Battle Royale map. Heroes from various eras are poised to thwart the offensive orchestrated by Emperor Palpatine. The fate of the Island hangs in the balance. Prepare your lightsaber and arm your blaster on May 2 in Fortnite: GALACTIC BATTLE.
An Imperial Takeover
Repelling the Imperial incursion will require all your blasters and ships unless the dark side lures you… Explore these new locations:

First Order Base
The First Order has claimed a mountaintop for its imposing headquarters, complete with a hangar for TIE fighter repairs. With five entry points, the utility shaft is the easiest infiltration route.

Outpost Enclave
The Outpost Enclave is a bustling hub of smuggler activity brimming with risk. While you’re there, check out the parked sandcrawler nearby.

Resistance Base
The Resistance’s underground command center is camouflaged by foliage, evading detection from passing ships. Here, you’ll find X-wings and abundant equipment to combat the First Order.

Vader Samurai’s Solitude
Darth Vader Samurai has overtaken Shogun’s Solitude, transforming it into his fortress. Overcome his samurai stormtroopers to challenge the Sith Lord himself.

Lightsabers Return
A timeless weapon for a sophisticated era, the lightsaber signifies a Jedi, though Sith employ them as well. Ideal for reflecting blaster shots, they boost agility and grant immunity to fall damage. Lightsabers are earned through training or looted from others.

Find and train with hologram Rey for a Blue Lightsaber and Force Push. Alternatively, train with hologram Emperor Palpatine for a Red Lightsaber and Force Lightning.

These Force Abilities are tied to you, not your lightsaber. Players looting a lightsaber won’t receive these abilities. Defeat Darth Vader Samurai for a unique red lightsaber and learn Force Saber Throw.
Blasters are Back
On launch day, non-lightsaber weapons will include only blasters like the:
- Reliable DL-44 Blaster Pistol
- Heavy CR-2 Blaster (an SMG!)
- Close-range ACP Scatter Blaster and BARM-ST12 Scatter Blaster
- Close-to-medium range DLT-19 Blaster Rifle
- Long-range IQA-11 Marksman Blaster Rifle
- All-purpose A280-CFE Blaster Rifle
- (unvaulted) Highly accurate DC-15 Heavy Blaster Rifle
- (unvaulted) Empire standard Issue E-11 Blaster
- (unvaulted) First Order standard issue F-11 Blaster
These weapons can overheat, so be cautious with continuous firing!

Although not technically a blaster, deploying a Thermal Imploder before it detonates causes significant structural damage.

Captain Phasma
Captain Phasma, leader of the First Order’s stormtroopers, awaits at the First Order Base. Triumph over her in battle to acquire the Mythic Captain Phasma’s F-11D Blaster and Phasma’s Blaster Medallion, which extends your blaster’s performance.

Keep in mind, Medallions reveal your location on opponents’ mini-maps, and the more you possess, the more accurate this detection becomes.
Pilot a Starfighter
The single-passenger Imperial TIE fighter is armed with high-powered blasters, potentially securing your next Victory Royale.

Alternatively, pilot a nimble X-wing for rapid movement and utilize its laser cannons in aerial duels.

Tournament Notes
Please note, X-wings, TIE fighters, and the Thermal Imploder will not be available in tournaments. Epic will evaluate other elements, like Force Abilities, and implement necessary adjustments.
