A fresh leak has surfaced online concerning the Halo: Combat Evolved remake. According to insider source Halo Leaks, the project is reportedly a full reimagining of the original rather than a straightforward enhancement.
Development is being built from the ground up, including a complete overhaul of the visuals.
Gameplay will also be revised. The developers reportedly plan to introduce sprinting and other “modern” mechanics that will appreciably alter combat feel and the game’s overall tempo, moving away from the classic pacing.
There is no official confirmation yet on platforms, but sources consider a release on PS5 likely, alongside PC and Xbox Series X|S.
The project is being handled by Virtuos, known for Oblivion Remastered and Metal Gear Solid Delta. The remake is being developed using a hybrid of Unreal Engine 5 and the Blam Engine, which is expected to raise the series’ visual fidelity to a new level.
