Paradark Studio recently pulled back the curtain on its debut project, ExeKiller, during the New Game+ Showcase.
Newly released gameplay footage demonstrates the protagonist’s struggle against a merciless environment while highlighting the core loop: players will pilot vehicles, engage in visceral combat through various playstyles, and traverse desolate, scorched landscapes. The world also features dedicated hubs where players can regroup, upgrade, and interact with friendly NPCs away from the heat of battle.
Described as a retro-futuristic Western steeped in a cyberpunk aesthetic, ExeKiller takes place in a grim dystopia following “The Great Fire”—a global catastrophe that transformed Earth into a sun-bleached wasteland. Players assume the role of an ExeKiller, a formidable bounty hunter tasked with hunting down outlaws to retrieve valuable biochips for the monolithic SOULS corporation.
The experience places a heavy emphasis on non-linearity and player agency, echoing the design philosophy of classic immersive sims like Deus Ex. Whether opting for a head-on assault or a stealthy approach, players can utilize the environment and branching dialogue to fundamentally alter the outcome of their missions. Exploration is handled both on foot and via aerial transport, channeling a distinct atmosphere reminiscent of Blade Runner and Mad Max.
