BTS’s ‘ARIRANG’ Scavenger Hunt: How Quickly Can You Uncover the Album Clues?

Attention, ARMY: the countdown to BTS’s highly anticipated return has officially shifted into high gear. In a creative collaboration with Google, the global icons are inviting fans to embark on an interactive digital scavenger hunt to celebrate the upcoming release of their new album, ARIRANG.
Launched on Thursday, March 5, and designed specifically for mobile users, the experience begins by entering “BTS” into the Google search bar. A “message in a bottle” icon then appears at the bottom of the interface, serving as a portal to a series of increasingly sophisticated trivia and challenges centered on the group’s legacy. As participants navigate the game, they can unlock and collect exclusive digital souvenirs.
This interactive journey is set to evolve, with fresh clues and challenges dropping every week until ARIRANG officially arrives on March 20.
The partnership highlights a staggering milestone: BTS is officially the most-searched boy band in Google’s history, a record that spans back to 2004. This digital activation is just one facet of a massive promotional campaign. The septet—comprised of RM, Jin, Suga, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook—recently appeared on the cover of GQ to reflect on their creative metamorphosis.
Excitement reached a fever pitch earlier this week with the reveal of the 14-song tracklist, showcasing an elite roster of producers including Kevin Parker of Tame Impala, Diplo, Ryan Tedder, and Mike WiLL Made-It. Most notably, the members themselves hold co-writing credits on every single track on the project, cementing their roles as the primary architects of their sound.
To cap off the release festivities, BTS will host a massive comeback concert. Fans worldwide can join the celebration as the event will be live-streamed on Netflix the day after the album’s global debut.
