EA Declines Development of The Sims 5
The company will focus on further developing The Sims 4. Previously, the base version of the game was made free, and content support has been ongoing for 10 years.
The main goal for the developers now is a multiplayer mode and partnering with mod creators to sell their mods in the EA store.
Franchise General Manager Kate Gorman stated that the decision was made out of concern for the players.
The studio concluded that 80 million users have already become accustomed to The Sims 4, and it is not worth disrupting the experience and worlds accumulated over the past decade.
