We’ve Been Waiting: 16 GB of RAM Becomes the New Minimum for All Mac on M4
According to Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman, in the upcoming generation of Mac computers with M4 processors, Apple will finally move away from the 8 GB of unified memory in the minimum configuration.
Previously, Apple claimed that 8 GB of RAM in a Mac was equivalent to 16 GB of RAM in Windows computers. However, the company now seems to have changed its stance—presumably to ensure a good level of performance with Apple Intelligence’s artificial intelligence capabilities.
The official announcement of the first Mac models based on the M4 is expected by the end of this year. At least a new Mac mini is anticipated this year.
