For the first time since 2019, Disney’s global box office earnings have surged past the $6 billion mark, cementing a triumphant performance for the 2025 calendar year. It appears the studio’s executives have finally navigated the company out of its post-pandemic slump, reclaiming its position at the top of the industry.
The financial gap between Disney and other industry giants remains significant; in fact, the House of Mouse has achieved a milestone that no other studio has managed to replicate in nearly a decade.
This massive success was driven by a diverse slate of 16 theatrical releases. Leading the charge were the highly anticipated sequels to Zootopia and the Lilo & Stitch live-action adaptation, both of which became billion-dollar blockbusters at the global box office.
