As the release approaches, we’re seeing more of Mafia: The Old Country. Over the past 10 days, the third and fourth developer diaries have been published (first, second), detailing the creative process and showcasing new footage, including a first look at the HUD. Additionally, there’s news of another edition.
The choice of Unreal Engine 5 as a foundation proved ideal for Hangar 13. However, a great deal of effort was required to make the game world stunning and vibrant. In Mafia 3 or Mafia: Definitive Edition, a 3D model of a building had 20-30 thousand triangles, whereas in the prequel, one model features over 1 million.
