Cyberpunk 2077 – Patch 2.31: AutoDrive, Photo Mode, and quest fixes

Patch 2.31 is rolling out on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Mac, and Nintendo Switch 2. Inside – a smarter AutoDrive, Photo Mode tweaks, quest/open-world fixes, a vignette toggle, and platform-specific improvements. Full notes below.

Highlights

  • AutoDrive drives smoother, overtakes blockers, and ignores red lights when navigating to a point; Free Roam follows traffic rules more reliably.
  • Photo Mode gets broader pose support and easier NPC placement.
  • New Graphics toggle to disable vignette (Settings → Graphics → Basic).

Vehicles

  • Updated AutoDrive: smoother pathing, overtakes stalled traffic, no stops at lights; Free Roam honors traffic rules and navigates the city more consistently.
  • Fixed: Johnny no longer always spawns in the passenger seat when using the Delamain Cab service.
  • Fixed: applying CrystalCoat to the Yaiba ARV-Q340 Semimaru no longer makes its wheels flash random colors.

Photo Mode

  • Most poses added in Update 2.3 now work for any gender.
  • NPC collision disabled, making it easier to place NPCs on objects with collision (e.g., car hoods).
  • Fixed: several poses not working for Royce.

Quests & Open World

  • Freedom — corrected the journal entry that appears if you choose not to steal the Rayfield Caliburn “Mordred.”
  • Motorbreath
    • A follow-up text from River now actually arrives after he says he’ll be in touch.
    • The Yaiba Semimaru no longer flips during the chase, blocking entry.
    • The quest can’t be triggered if River died in The Hunt.
    • You can obtain the Yaiba ARV-Q340 Semimaru via AUTOFIXER even if you failed The Hunt (which normally unlocks the side quest for this vehicle).
  • Nitro (Youth Energy)
    • Fixed a crash that could occur in certain cases after leaving the Yaiba showroom event.
    • The proxy interface UI in the Yaiba showroom no longer gets cut off when “Larger HUD Elements” is enabled.

Miscellaneous

  • Multiple localization and lipsync fixes across languages.
  • Added a toggle to disable vignette (Settings → Graphics → Basic).
  • PC/Mac: fixed cases where Ray-Traced Reflections could render incorrectly.
  • Fixed several issues with Delamain text messages.
  • Various fixes for fluff vendors.

PC-specific

  • Fixed: NVIDIA Reflex could be disabled while DLSS Frame Generation was enabled, causing a pink screen.
  • Fixed: Path Tracing not activating properly in some scenarios.

Mac-specific

  • Fixed: changing graphics presets could set Screen Space Reflections higher than the equivalent PC presets.
  • Fixed: permanent white screen when Frame Generation is enabled during the braindance in The Information.
  • Selecting “Defaults” in Video Settings no longer turns HDR Mode off.
  • Fixed inverted behavior of the “Mute Game in Background” toggle.
  • Removed the outdated “(Requires Game Restart)” note on “Disable Spatial Audio.”
  • App Store version no longer gets stuck on the “Press Space to continue” breaching screen.
  • General stability and performance improvements.
