Charli XCX has officially brought her Brat era to a close.
On Friday, August 15, the 33-year-old pop sensation delivered the final headline set in support of her blockbuster album Brat at the One Universe Festival in Gwacheon-si, South Korea.
To celebrate the milestone, Charli — who wed George Daniel of The 1975 in July — treated attendees to an enigmatic message and a preview of her forthcoming artistic venture.
“Please don’t let it end,” proclaimed a giant video screen as she owned the stage.
Shortly after the performance, she shared on Instagram a striking still from the show alongside a brief teaser of her A24 cinematic project The Moment, inspired by an original concept from Charli herself.
The British singer-songwriter dominated last summer with Brat, her sixth studio album, which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 — the highest chart entry of her career. With its eye-catching lime-green artwork, dancefloor-ready production, and even a nod in the 2024 U.S. presidential discourse, Brat propelled Charli from underground favorite to bona fide pop powerhouse.
Riding that wave, Charli is now pivoting toward film. Beyond The Moment, she will star in and executive produce an upcoming project from acclaimed Japanese horror auteur Takashi Miike (Yakuza Apocalypse).
Her burgeoning screen résumé also includes the erotic thriller I Want Your Sex with Olivia Wilde and Cooper Hoffman; the satirical drama Sacrifice alongside Chris Evans and Anya Taylor-Joy; and the fantasy epic 100 Nights of Hero.
Offstage, Charli exchanged vows with The 1975’s drummer George Daniel on July 19 in an intimate ceremony at Hackney Town Hall, London, surrounded by close friends and family. “Did something,” she captioned her wedding snapshots on Instagram.
The pair first announced their engagement in July 2023.
