Chandler Moore and Naomi Raine Announce Departures from Maverick City Music

Published October 6, 2025

Two prominent members of the Grammy-winning worship collective Maverick City Music, Chandler Moore and Naomi Raine, have announced they are leaving the group. Each artist shared the news on social platforms on October 6, 2025, and both made clear they intend to continue creating music independently.

In his statement, Chandler Moore described the choice as difficult but necessary after a period of reflection. He said he is grateful for the community Maverick City provided and called his decision a “bittersweet” one, adding that he’s eager to move into a season focused on telling his story and making music that connects with people on a deeper, more human level. Naomi Raine likewise announced that, after prayer and careful thought, she is no longer part of Maverick City Music. She framed the change not as an ending but as a fresh beginning—one in which she will continue writing, singing and leading worship as an individual artist. (See her Instagram statement.)

Founded in 2018, Maverick City Music has earned five Grammy Awards and achieved major success on Billboard’s Christian and Gospel charts with songs such as “Promises” and “Jireh.” Collaborative albums like Old Church Basement (with Elevation Worship) and The Maverick Way Complete: Complete Vol. 2 reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Christian Albums and Top Gospel Albums charts.

Outside the collective, Chandler Moore released the solo project Feelings in 2020 and the live album Chandler Moore: Live in Los Angeles in 2024. Naomi Raine’s solo work includes the two-part Back to Eden project, the 2022 album The Journey, and the 2025 live record Jesus Over Everything (Live in Las Vegas).
