CD Projekt Red Reveals Showcase Date and Gameplay Changes for The Witcher 4

The next chapter of The Witcher franchise is set to step back into the spotlight. CD Projekt RED has announced that the following major presentation is only three months away.

A fresh installment of the AnsweRED podcast recently delved into the technical foundations and design philosophies driving development, offering the first substantial glimpses into the project’s gameplay mechanics.

The upcoming showcase is scheduled to take place at Unreal Fest in Chicago from June 16 to 18, 2026. While the exact scope of the reveal remains a mystery, industry insiders anticipate a high-fidelity technical demonstration powered by Unreal Engine 5.

During the podcast, several gameplay innovations were highlighted: Ciri will possess the ability to weave magic while sprinting or navigating underwater, and a dedicated jump button has been integrated into the controls. The developers also emphasized that motion capture is being utilized to reflect Ciri’s distinct emotional depth, distinguishing her presence from the stoic demeanor of Geralt.

CDPR confirmed that the game will feature a significantly more diverse cast of NPCs and an open world that offers greater interactivity than its predecessor. The episode also provided a behind-the-scenes look at animation work for both the debut trailer and The Witcher 3, illustrating the immense technical hurdles involved in choreographing complex boss encounters.
