Nerial initially considered a storyline involving the rediscovery of the alchemical Trial of the Grasses, which could have led to the creation of new witchers or even supernatural resurrections. CD Projekt Red, acting as the ultimate authority on the IP, stepped in to keep the fantasy grounded. As the developers noted, “Deploying armies of zombie witchers was ultimately deemed a step too far for the canon!”
