“Proper game functionality cannot be guaranteed on operating systems of which Microsoft has ended support,” Capcom explains. “If an issue running the game occurs, support can only be provided based on information from before support for Windows 10 was discontinued. Services for investigating problems regarding running the game on Windows 10 will be discontinued.”
In short: if you want continued support and updates, upgrade to Windows 11.
About three hours after posting the Windows 10 advisory, Capcom published a separate Steam update for Monster Hunter Wilds addressing broader performance concerns.
“We have confirmed game crashes and other unexpected shutdowns affecting users, caused by issues with graphics cards in their systems,” Capcom says, and it recommends players update their graphics drivers.
For Nvidia gamers, Capcom recommends driver version 580.88 or later. If you use an AMD GPU, look for driver version 25.2.1 or newer.
Results may vary; a driver update isn’t guaranteed to fix every crash. It appears the most recent Monster Hunter Wilds patch coincided with a surge in driver-related problems, and Capcom is working to address those issues.
Capcom also reminds players that a larger update targeting CPU and GPU performance improvements for Wilds is scheduled to arrive “this winter.”
