Bloomberg: The new iPad Air will be released in the spring with the M4 processor
Analyst Mark Gurman speculated that the 7th generation iPad Air might skip the M3 processor and go straight to the M4, like the latest iPad Pro, to unify production. No other significant changes are expected.
This would make sense, considering that insiders are predicting a MacBook Air release with the M4 processor in January-February. With this, Apple might discontinue M3 production altogether.
The iPad Air might get a trimmed-down version of the M4 with fewer GPU cores to avoid competing with the higher-end model. We’ll find out soon enough.
