Battlefield 6 Update Reverts Aim Assist to Open Beta Settings, but Players Call for Full Weapon Rebalance

Battlefield 6

“After reviewing player feedback and gameplay data, we’re reverting aim assist back to the values some of you experienced during Open Beta and Battlefield Labs,” the patch notes state. “This will now serve as the default, while still letting you tailor aim assist to your preference and playstyle via the settings.”

Some community members worry the change could cause unintended side effects. “I think more reduction in spread/dispersion is actually bad for the game and might now feel very similar to 2042 where you could beam people out to 150m+ no problem,” one player remarks.

“Core multiplayer is close to unplayable right now from the changes to spread/accuracy in the last patch,” another tweet reads. “The whole game/weapons need to be rebalanced with more extreme damage fall off.”

Players are also flagging changes to bullet dispersion. “It might be a problem because another bloom bug is getting fixed on top of the overall reduction of bloom. Some guns are going to feel insane now,” another user adds.

Expect feedback to pour in now that these adjustments are live — we’ll see how things settle and what future patches bring.

Battlefield 6 devs say map size is “under review,” and for now it looks like they’re already cutting player counts on some of the biggest meat grinders.
