Battlefield 6: REDSEC Season 1 January Update

Battlefield 6: REDSEC Season 1 January Update

We want to express our sincere gratitude to the global community for the incredible passion and feedback following the debut of Battlefield 6 and our premier free-to-play ecosystem, REDSEC. This past year marked a historic milestone for the franchise, as millions of veterans and new recruits alike converged for the most successful launch in Battlefield history.

Our vision for this launch included a steadfast commitment to delivering monthly, high-impact content. Following an action-packed Season 1 in 2025—featuring the surprise release of REDSEC, the high-stakes “California Resistance” campaign, and the festive “Winter Offensive”—we are stepping into the new year with a clear focus on the future.

As we continue our development cycle, we have carefully analyzed player feedback. To uphold our quality standards, we have decided to extend Season 1. This adjustment provides our team with the necessary window to meticulously refine and polish the Season 2 experience.

While Season 1 was originally slated to conclude on January 20, it will now be extended until the official launch of Season 2 on February 17. On January 20, we will deploy an interim update for Battlefield 6 and REDSEC that introduces fresh weekly challenges, an exclusive Bonus Path, and a continuation of the Season 1 Battle Pass to ensure there is always something to strive for.

Furthermore, we are expanding the role of Battlefield Labs as the primary testing ground for upcoming features and stability updates. This initiative, combined with the Season 1 extension, creates a robust foundation for the innovative live-service content arriving in Season 2 and throughout 2026.

Frostfire Bonus Path – Launching January 27

Frostfire Bonus Path Rewards

Starting January 27, players can embark on the Frostfire Bonus Path. By progressing through these tiers, you can unlock premium customization items, including specialized weapon bundles, unique soldier skins, and XP modifiers. While a selection of rewards is available to all players, the full array of premium content is reserved for Season 1 Battle Pass owners.

Free rewards within this path include Hardware XP Boosts, vehicle liveries, and player card assets. Battle Pass holders will gain access to exclusive weapon packages and Career XP Boosts. Crucially, progression on the Frostfire path happens simultaneously with your Season 1 Battle Pass; you do not need to choose between them. Each of the 11 tiers requires 10 points, totaling 110 points for completion.

In a change from previous formats, all points for the Frostfire path are earned strictly through Weekly Challenges. Point yields will vary based on the complexity of the task; please consult the in-game Challenges menu for specific details.
