Paramount-Warner Bros merger value revealed

Media outlets are reporting that Skydance (Paramount) is set to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery in a monumental deal valued at $110 billion, translating to roughly $31 per share.

“By joining forces, Paramount and WBD will provide consumers with an unparalleled selection through their premier streaming platforms. This partnership leverages a unique portfolio of intellectual property, uniting global powerhouse franchises such as Game of Thrones, Mission: Impossible, Harry Potter, Top Gun, the DC Universe, and SpongeBob SquarePants,” Paramount stated in an official release.

Netflix had previously entered the bidding war with an $82.7 billion offer. However, the Warner Bros. board of directors recently concluded that Paramount’s proposal was superior. Consequently, the streaming titan has withdrawn from the competition.

It remains uncertain whether the transaction will clear the hurdles of U.S. antitrust regulatory approval.
