Battle with Nurgle’s Minions: Warhammer Quest: Darkwater Developers Unveil 49 Miniatures

Now’s the time to reveal exactly what’s inside the Warhammer Quest: Darkwater box and to watch the trailer for this cooperative board game set in the Warhammer: Age of Sigmar universe.

Games Workshop has delivered on its promise and officially unveiled Warhammer Quest: Darkwater — a cooperative tabletop game for 1–4 players, taking place in the Mortal Realms.

Players, alongside valiant heroes, will battle Nurgle’s minions amid the tainted ruins of the Jade Abbey. The complete three-act campaign can be finished in roughly 10–14 hours.

The box includes 49 plastic miniatures. Playable heroes comprise Drolf Ironhead, Edmark Valoran, Bren Talis, Inara Sion, Keltannor — a follower of the hunt-god Kurnoth — Drasher Vorn, chieftain of a Ghurian werebeast tribe devoted to the aspect of the Everqueen, and Jacobus Vayne, a jade mage accompanied by a spiteful owl and a foxlike forest spirit named Whisper.

Adventurers will be forced to confront bosses such as Gelgus Pust, the Prince of Blights; Belga the Cyst-Witch — former high priestess of the Jade Abbey; Mulgut the Cleaver — Pust’s loyal henchman; and the shaman Fulhuf (Dirty Hoof), leader of the Pestigor herd.

Heroes will encounter the Rotborn — massive, extremely resilient demons; the Templars of Corruption — mighty mortal warriors in service to Nurgle; Pox-Wretches — infected devotees who are blind and track prey by scent and taste; Pestigors — bestial humanoids; and Bog Kelpi — cursed swamp spirits.

The set also includes a 38-page hardcover map book that unfolds on the table instead of a board or tiles. It contains 18 maps, each spanning two pages; these maps become scenarios when combined with cards drawn by players before a mission, making them reusable.

The box also contains 14 Warhammer Quest dice, a 36-page rulebook, a quick-start guide, 61 cardboard tokens, 341 cards, and 12 card boxes for preserving campaign progress between sessions.
