Wilde also highlighted the contributions of stunt professionals who execute the motion capture for sequences beyond the physical reach of many voice actors, such as complex choreography and acrobatic maneuvers. She jokingly admitted that the memorable moment where her Baldur’s Gate 3 character, Lae’zel, performs a spectacular leap from a nautiloid ship was the work of a stunt double. “That wasn’t actually me. Surprise,” she quipped.

In many modern titles, vocal and physical performances must be meticulously woven together. Wilde shared insights from her work on the atmospheric horror game Cronos: The New Dawn, noting that the motion capture was completed before she ever entered the recording booth. This required her to forge a “perfect synergy” with an actor she had never met, blending their separate contributions into a single, cohesive character.

While the beloved character Esquie from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was initially compared to the lovable giants of Mulan, his actor found a different touchstone for the role: “I drew inspiration from Baymax in Big Hero 6.”
