Some developers are correcting that by updating global pricing — Arc Raiders recently did so, and now Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter is following suit. In a recent Steam blog post, Falcom said the price for the base game, the Digital Deluxe Edition and several DLC items will change on October 19.

The announcement lists the currencies and regions receiving updated pricing: Indonesian Rupiah, Malaysian Ringgit, Philippine Peso, Thai Baht, Vietnamese Dong, CIS (priced in U.S. Dollars), LATAM (U.S. Dollars), MENA (U.S. Dollars) and SASIA (U.S. Dollars). “We appreciate everyone’s patience and continued support as we work to update these items,” the company added.

Falcom hasn’t detailed exactly how prices will shift, but the advance notice lets prospective buyers hold off if they prefer. Some LATAM players expect prices to rise — Automaton reports that Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter is listed at roughly $30 on Steam — though regional pricing is sometimes adjusted to reflect local purchasing power.

The definitive JRPG remake has arrived — Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter may even outshine recent revivals like Final Fantasy VII and Persona 3 with its thoughtful approach to modernizing a classic.
