Avatar: Fire and Ash conquers the global box office

James Cameron’s sci-fi epic, Avatar: Fire and Ash, has officially amassed $760 million globally, with $542 million coming from international markets and $217 million from the domestic box office. This performance currently ranks the threequel as the sixth highest-grossing film of 2025, trailing behind major hits such as Lilo & Stitch, Zootopia 2, and the latest Jurassic World installment.

While industry analysts initially projected that Avatar: Fire and Ash would surpass the $1 billion milestone by January 1, 2026, current trajectory suggests that achieving this target may be an uphill battle.

For the blockbuster to be deemed a financial success, it reportedly needs to reach a box office threshold of approximately $2 billion. Only by hitting this monumental goal will the production of the fourth Avatar film be secured.
