Over time, several gamers have begun to reconsider their initial perspectives.
Back in November, certain high-profile figures, including the streamer Shroud, actively lobbied against Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. They were determined to prevent the buzzy project from securing “Game of the Year” honors at The Game Awards 2025.
Their efforts proved futile—the title from Sandfall Interactive went on to sweep numerous accolades. Now, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is finally winning over those who, until very recently, “didn’t get it” or were among its loudest critics.
Within the Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 community, testimonials from “reformed detractors” are becoming an increasingly common sight.
Among those who have finally “seen the light” is Shroud himself, who shared his thoughts after spending some quality time with the game:
“I never imagined I’d say this out loud… but Asmongold was right. As I recall, he mentioned something like… when I finally play [Clair Obscur: Expedition 33], I’m going to end up liking it…”
