Entrepreneurs have already begun profiting from the popular game.
The extraction shooter ARC Raiders launched recently and attracted a large player base. The title is breaking concurrent player records on Steam, and enterprising operators have already set up a black market around the game.
Online listings for virtual goods have appeared, and sometimes their prices surpass the cost of the game itself. For instance, a Burletta blueprint is being sold for $50, while ARC Raiders is priced at $40.
However, the purchase is only the first step. After that, the seller must meet the buyer during a raid to transfer the item.
If the recipient doesn’t place the item into the special inventory slot that protects it from being lost on death, an unsuccessful extraction will cost them the item.
