Ubisoft is grappling with yet another lackluster debut. As the publisher continues to iterate on its legacy franchises—following recent updates and the return of Rayman—their latest project has failed to gain any significant traction with the gaming community.
The Might & Magic series was once a cornerstone of Ubisoft’s PC gaming strategy. Since acquiring the intellectual property two decades ago, the brand has historically delivered solid results. While the series has seen a decline in prominence lately, player interest remains palpable, as evidenced by the Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era demo, which peaked at over 24,000 concurrent users.
In sharp contrast, Might & Magic Fates – Heroes TCG, which launched on February 16, struggled to even reach the 1,000-player milestone despite its free-to-play model. Community feedback suggests that fans were anticipating a different experience, ultimately receiving a lackluster card game with “pay-to-win” elements that feel more characteristic of a mobile-first title.
Peak Concurrent Players:
- Might & Magic Fates – 993
- Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era Demo – 24,157
As of the time of publication, there are only 263 active players currently in the game.
