The crusade against artificial intelligence shows no signs of slowing down, as the community continues to scrutinize digital projects for any trace of algorithmic intervention.
Recently, a wave of controversy erupted when it was revealed that the creators of the highly anticipated Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 had utilized AI tools during development. This discovery triggered an immediate “cancel culture” backlash from vocal critics.
In response, the organizers of The Indie Game Awards stripped Expedition 33 of its accolades. Consequently, the “Game of the Year” title was reassigned to the runner-up, Blue Prince. However, the victory was short-lived, as online sleuths quickly began circulating allegations that this new champion was also built using AI assets.
Publisher Raw Fury has since issued a formal denial to clarify the situation:
No artificial intelligence was involved in the development of Blue Prince. The game is the sole product of human creativity and the professional intuition of Tonda Ros (@dogubomb) and his team. This project represents eight years of dedicated craftsmanship, and we are immensely proud of what Tonda has achieved through imagination alone.
