Gorilla Biscuits’ Alex Brown Dead at 52

Painter and Gorilla Biscuits guitarist Alex Brown has died, as ArtForum reviews and his bandmates confirm through social media. According to ArtForum, Brown handed away following an aneurysm. He was 52 years outdated.

A seminal group within the New York hardcore scene, Gorilla Biscuits fashioned in 1987, releasing their self-titled EP the next yr on Revelation Records. The band’s lone LP Start Today got here out in 1989. A collection of singles and EPs from the band adopted, together with A New Direction and Another Direction (each from 1992), and At the Matinee, which was launched in 2006 after the group had disbanded twice (finally reuniting in 2005).
